Arizona is home. Head over heels for 6+ years now. Stepmom. Fall is the BEST season. Love ALL music. Movies are boss too. Anything vintage is terrific. Anything paranormal is terrifying. Family is MY key to happiness. Loyal to a fault. Marvel over DC. Captain America is my kind of guy....and lots of other meaningless crap.

Recently found out, after 3+ years of infertility, that we will be adding 2 extra people to our crazy family! Yup, that's right, I am pregnant with twins...

Infertility Journey

In August of 2011, my husband and I were diagnosed with infertility after 2 years of ttc (trying to conceive) on our own. Our “official” diagnosis is PCOS with a little Unexplained Infertility thrown in.

October 2011 was when we started fertility treatments. After 6 rounds of Femara and Clomid with timed intercourse & trigger shots, we were still unsuccessful. May of 2012 we decided to take a break for a few months to get back in touch with our wounded hearts and marriage.

October 2012 we returned to the fight of growing our family. We met with an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) which I STRONGLY recommend to any couple with difficulty conceiving. He suggested 3 rounds of IUI, then moving on to IVF if needed.

Our first IUI was on 10/11/12. 17dpiui (days past IUI) we got our first and only BFP on 3 home pregnancy tests. After 2 beta tests (blood tests with the doctor) and an ultrasound, our pregnancy was confirmed…times two! After 3+ years of trying, we were finally pregnant WITH TWINS!!

While we’ve hit the “safe zone” of our pregnancy, we still…well, I should say I, still have the “infertility mentality”. We may not have had to progress to IVF, but I have experienced the let-downs, the BFN’s and the jealousy at that girl from High School (who was an utter twat btw) who is pregnant with number 3, ZOMG!! So please don’t think that I don’t remember the journey it took to get us here. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to use my ask. Anon is even on if you happen to be shy :)

For those even more curious than my vague explanation here, I have a more in-depth blog that discusses everything we have been through since our diagnosis here, including our IF (infertility) timeline and a breakdown of costs. Be forewarned that I have belly shots and ultrasound pics on there, so proceed with caution, but there is a good amount of snark and cursing so feel free to check it out!
